Huawei MediaPad Coming With Android Honeycomb

Huawei has just released a sneak peek video of the tablet in action and it’s supposed to be some sort of entertainment device that’s captivating. Mediapad is running Android 3.0 Honeycomb and to be an aluminium body and black plastic ends. Let’s hope that Huawei might find its new tablet lost in a sea of bigger name Android devices.

Huawei MediaPad Coming With Android Honeycomb

Huawei is another manufacturer interested in the tablet market and they’ve previously had the S7 tablet which not get a success, but merely a product with an adequate price/performance ratio. Huawei shows signs of taking things seriously, as they’ve started by releasing a teaser of their upcoming MediaPad tablet, a multimedia revolution and the 7 inch form factor surely points towards a tablet on the lower spectrum as size and weight is concerned. Huawei is all set to release a new 7-inch tablet called the MediaPad this month and claims that it is the smallest and lightest tablet that it has released till date. Recently the company released a short video showing a girl using the tablet and the video has generated mixed reactions. The video does not reveal much and Huawei has promised to announce the specs on June 20th. Meanwhile, the market is abuzz with speculations on whether the tablet will do well and if it’s a good idea for Huawei to get into the tablet fray at all. Bob O’Donnell, an analyst at IDC, was quite doubtful that the tablet would do well considering that there are already hundreds of players in the tablet arena in China. He said that Huawei would have to identify a unique selling point that would set it apart from the rest of the tablets. He also suggested that the fact that the tablet is coming from a telecom vendor would also add to its weakness, because consumers would prefer to buy tablets from PC hardware sources. You can see images and a video below:

Dell Streak 10 Pro Coming To China, US May Next Year

Dell Streak 10 Pro 10-inch tablet going to launch in China this summer, US people may get it in the next year. John Thode, a Dell vice president and manager of Dell said “The U.S. market simply doesn’t offer a viable 10-inch tablet strategy for Dell”.

The Streak 10 Pro, as it’ll officially be known, comes with a Honeycomb-standard 1280 x 800 resolution screen, an edge-to-edge glass surface, two cameras (one of them reaching a 5 megapixel res), an SD card slot, a thickness of 12mm, and 1080p video playback capabilities courtesy of an unspecified NVIDIA Tegra dual-core processor. An additional dock will allow the 10 Pro to act as a USB host, while augmenting its connectivity with HDMI, Ethernet, and, obviously, a set of USB ports.

“China is the largest in the emerging market category and the second fastest-growing in the emerging market category. And China is also our second largest market right after the U.S.,” said Amit Midha, chairman of Dell Greater China. “The China market in units may cross the U.S. in the next couple of years,” he said, underscoring the importance of the market to Dell.

There are roughly 10,000 stores that sell Dell products in China and, by the end of the this year, there will be 2,000 service centers where customers can bring Dell products, Midha said.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider Going On Sale Soon, It May Cost Between $500-$800

ASUS’ Eee Pad might still be difficult to track down, but at least all systems are go for the company’s other Honeycomb tablet, the Eee Pad Slider. Asus introduced the Eee Pad Slider at CES in January, but the company’s been pretty quite about the Android tablet with a slide-out keyboard ever since.
Acer-tablet
The company has posted a few teaser photos of the tablet on TechInStyle.tv, but there are no big surprises. While the company says the tablet has gone through additional testing since January, the only major change I can see is that the mockups show Android 3.x Honeycomb rather than Android 2.2 Froyo.

The company confirmed that the 10.1-inch tablet, originally slated for May, is “coming soon” no word, of course, on whether it will ditch Tegra 2 for an Atom Z670 CPU, as rumored. Next up, ASUS, give us a price, capiche? Last time we checked, the company was estimating it would cost between $500 and $800, so your guess is as good as ours as to how sweet a value this will be. There’s no word on pricing, but Asus will have more details during a pre-Computex news conference on May 30th.

You can check out my demo video from CES showing how the sliding mechanism works after the break. In a nutshell, the Slider is a lot like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, except that instead of offering an optional keyboard docking station, the Slider come standard with a keyboard that’s always with you since it tucks away behind the screen.

BeBook Live Tablet

BeBook Live tablet delivers the goods for Froyo diehards and has a seven-inch multitouch color screen, a 2MP front facing camera, 1080p HDMI out, Flash support, and 4GB of built-in memory. Powered by Android 2.2, which will no doubt feel downright antiquated when it launches in June for $279.

surf-tablet-producBebook who is well known for producing e-ink based e-readers such as the Bebook Neo and Bebook One is going to be releasing a new Android Tablet June 21st 2011, new 7 inch device will simply be known as the Bebook Tablet. The demand for tablets is much higher than for readers, so landfill Endless Ideas is also on the tablet market. The BeBook Live is a small, bright 7-inch tablet that still works with the Android 2.2, but also very attractive price: 279 euros. This tablet is much handier than 10 inches as the iPad tablet. It is immediately apparent when you hold it: it works fine with one hand. With the right thumb, the three standard Android buttons (home, back, menu) to also be handy. The buttons take care of a large border around the screen, which is also a milli meter towers over the edge. BeBook Live is not the most stylish tablets with plastic shell. The tablet itself is quite thin (11 mm), but the iPad is thinner. His window looks at a comparative test with the iPad two slightly less bright and sharp. BeBook Live has only wifi, no 3G and GPS.

Furthermore, a 1 Ghz chip manufacture Samsung (not dual core), 4 GB of internal memory and SD card inputs for HDMI and a front camera. A camera on the back, according BeBook unnecessary, because photographing what is around you the tablet is not the most appropriate device. For lack of backup cameras miss you the possibility to use augmented reality apps. The 1-GHz chip performs smoothly and BeBook claims that the rapper would go something video processing than the iPad. The first tablets of the brand-new Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) appear correctly in the coming weeks from brands like Acer, Asus and LG. As a smaller manufacturer is not as fast Endless Ideas were provided with Honeycomb and larger brands. The company must also have a few months waiting for certification by Google. Android 3.0 at the start are also some shortcomings, which Google updates will be eliminated. Endless Ideas from September promises Android upgrade to 3.0, which is pretty late. The company also could opt for the newer 2.3, recently available, but support for that version was not on time.

There are more small tablets that are not Android Honeycomb use. This is how HTC’s Flyer, a 7-inch tablet with Android 2.3. An advantage is that almost all existing screen Android apps work on this tablet. The screen resolution of 800×600 BeBook Live is supported by most of the nearly 150 000 Android applications. The tablet simply offers access to Android Market, which is more competitive budget for Archos tablets did not apply.Additional connectivity options abound. BeBook Live provides USB, an SD slot and a mini-HDMI port, so the images on his tablet TVs can display. It supports full HD output. There are also some accessories like a Bluetooth keyboard available. When purchasing supplies BeBook for several apps, including the game Tank Racer and an app for file management and read e-books.BeBook Live is perhaps not the most handsome of the Android tablets, but he offers a reasonable hardware for its low retail price (279 euros). The tablet seems particularly interesting for those already on its Android mobile device and now a cheap tablet with the familiar version of Android wants to buy. And preferably a manageable 7 inch model. For that group BeBook Live entry level tablet attractive than the lower performers and ViewSonic Archos tablets.
